About the Conference Location

Welcome to Portland, Oregon and The University Place Hotel.
GOSCON '05 will be held at in Portland, Oregon at the University Place Hotel. The property, acquired and operated by Portland State University as a full service conference facility for educational and governmental events, is located in the downtown area near the university district.

A block of rooms has been set aside at favorable rate for conference attendees.  Here is what you'll need to know about rooms at the conference facility:

  • The GOSCON attendee room rate is $69 for a single king, two double beds, or a single double bed.  Suite upgrades are available for $149.
  • Rooms for the attendees are being held for the dates of October 12th through 15th.
  • Conference room blocks will be released September 23rd.  The hotel will honor the conference pricing after that date, however they cannot guarantee a room will be available after September 23rd.
  • The conference rate will be made available to attendees who are arriving early or extending their stay for the dates of October 11th through 18th.
  • If you will be parking at the hotel, be sure to identify yourself with the conference at the parking kiosk and you will not be charged during the two days the of conference.
  • Check the hotel web site for directions to the facility.
Room reservations should be made directly with the hotel.  Be sure and let them know you are attending GOSCON to receive the discount.  You can contact the hotel as follows:
